Frequently Asked Questions

Q) I need to be connected to the Internet to get the sample files.  Why?
A) This is not the case in all the courses. Some course developers felt that it would be better to have users get the latest files from the Learn2 site, keeping the course up to date.

Q) I have two CD-ROM drives. Sometimes the courses will not start in one of them. Help, this is most irritating!
A) Sorry. The installation program remembers the drive letter at installtion time so the CD needs to be put in the drive you originally installed it from.

Q) I have done most of your Office XP courseware and I know Windows pretty well. Can I get a certificate for all my hard work?
A) Yes, but you need to either do Microsoft MOS exams or the ICDL. Our centre at UBC offers the ICDL Exams.

Q) As soon as I try and run the course after installation winamp opens up.
A) Open winamp and in the preferences section find the file types settings, deselect the STM file type and click OK. Running the course should work fine now.
