About IStudy

In 1999, the need for high quality, generic, web based courseware was identified for the African Market. We had been doing research for the International Development Research Council of Canada (IDRC) and running a pilot to test delivering skills using satellite networks and computers. Courseware, at this juncture, had been largely limited to CD-ROM technology and the need for network based delivery with management and control of the learning was identified.

After much research and a few trips abroad we finally chose Learn2 Corporation (now Learn.com) as a supplier for our courseware offering and in May 2000 IStudy4.com was formed as part of a JSE and NASDAQ listed media & publishing group of companies.

The Learn2 courseware was chosen specifically because of it's bandwidth efficiency and easy style of instruction which learners very quickly identify with as this is similar to the classroom environment they are used to. We also acquired the rights to customise the courseware and purchased the technology to develop our own web based content using the same technology.

In August 2001, after surviving the "dot com" crash, the current management successfully negotiated a buy out and took control of the company. We are focused in narrow markets where we believe the use of technology can make a difference in education and training. We offer a wide range of services in the e-learning arena including consulting.
